I'd like to quote you one of my favourite quotes from a movie. Sean Penn talking to Robert Duvall in Colors:
Two bulls standing on the top of a hill.
Young bull says to the old bull: "See those cows down there in that field? Let's run down there and f*ck one of them"
"Nah" says the old bull. "Let's walk down there and f*ck 'em all"

Originally by: Kayna Eelai for example i don't like too much the way that this game is split through races like it is, affecting "skills". for example, why should gallente be better in drones that minmatar? and minmatar so damn good with artillery? what if i wanted to play a minmatar char that was born and raised on a gallente planet?
this extends to the ships: minmatar ships are good with this, gallente are good with that. i'd like more mixed ships (and pretty please cheaper that faction ones OR AT LEAST let us insure em properly)
more choice, that's what i want. more ENTERTAINEMENT while waiting 3 month for the damn skills.
There are NO racial bonuses for players of any race. So if you want to roleplay a Minmatar born on a Gallente planet you make a Minmatar character and train a mixture of Minmatar and Gallente skills. However you'll be no better or worse at those skills than an Amarr / Caldari who chooses to train them too.
Don't look at the game as lumps of training that you have to wait for to finish to enjoy playing. That way, madness lies.

Originally by: Kayna Eelai erm, sorry but when did YOU create your char? last time i checked, when i created a gallente char it came with a ****load of SP into drones, while a minmatar one had em into gunnery. there starts the difference.
actually, i am gallente and fly minmatar (including it's support skills)... while i understand that i would have to train a long time to fly other races ships and master them... why aren't there more "hybrid" ships?
CHOICE!
The starting skill points you get dumped on you to begin with are largely irrelevant as you can cross train and make those up in no time.
I thought I'd try to be helpful but your sarcastic "I know best" attitude isn't endearing you to me, so I'll bow out here and leave you to it.
Enjoy Eve. Or don't. Who cares.
